She’s Winning: Tell us who you are and what you do.
Dee Dee Legette: I am a transformational fitness leader, wellness entrepreneur, mental health advocate, retired U.S. Air Force veteran, author, motivational speaker, and the Founder and CEO of Core Queen Fitness. My mission is to help individuals strengthen their physical health, improve their mindset, and build sustainable habits that lead to long-term transformation. Through coaching, wellness education, speaking, and my Core Queen Fitness platform, I empower people to become the healthiest and strongest versions of themselves.
She’s Winning: What inspired you to start your business, brand, or journey?
Dee Dee Legette: My journey was inspired by a desire to create lasting change in the lives of others. After serving 20 years in the United States Air Force, overcoming childhood trauma, and witnessing firsthand the impact that health disparities, poor nutrition, and unresolved emotional wounds can have on individuals and families, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to helping people heal and transform. I wanted to create a platform that addressed not only physical fitness but also mental wellness and personal growth.
She’s Winning: What has been your biggest challenge, and how did you overcome it?
Dee Dee Legette: One of my biggest challenges has been overcoming personal adversity while continuing to lead and serve others. Throughout my life, I’ve faced obstacles that tested my resilience, faith, and determination. I overcame those challenges by focusing on healing, personal development, discipline, and purpose. I learned that growth often comes through difficult seasons, and every challenge became an opportunity to become stronger and more equipped to help others on their own journeys.
She’s Winning: What advice would you give to a woman who is chasing her dreams?
Dee Dee Legette: Believe in yourself even when the journey feels uncertain. Don’t allow fear, setbacks, or other people’s opinions to determine what’s possible for your life. Stay committed to your vision, remain disciplined, and keep moving forward one step at a time. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but consistency, faith, and perseverance will take you farther than you can imagine.
She’s Winning: Finish this sentence: “Winning looks good on me because…”
Dee Dee Legette: Winning looks good on me because every challenge I’ve overcome has strengthened my purpose, deepened my faith, and prepared me to help others transform their lives.
Why She’s Winning
Dee Dee Legette is winning because she has turned her personal experiences into a powerful mission of transformation. Through wellness, leadership, advocacy, and service, she continues to help others reclaim their health, strengthen their mindset, and build lives rooted in confidence and purpose. Her story reminds us that true success isn’t measured by what we achieve for ourselves—it’s measured by the lives we impact along the way.
